At the initiative of the ENU Student Ombudsman Nelya Shapekova, members of the Board of Directors of the NJSC “The L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University” planted trees on the university’s territory. Zhaksybek Kulekeyev, Nazgul Aidargaliyeva, Aydin Abai, Talgat Dyusekov, Tansel Tercan, Bolat Tokezhanov, Madiyar Orynbayev and others among the participants paid special attention to landscaping works.

Autumn tree planting works are actively taking place throughout the city. The eco-action is attended by representatives of business, various organizations, youth, builders and all interested residents.

“Priority attention is paid to greening and landscaping to turn Astana into a cozy city. Today we came to ENU to plant trees, if every Eurasian plants one tree on the university square, we will form a town “Green ENU”. If there are more green spaces on the university campus, we will all be happier,” Chairman of the Board of Directors Zhaksybek Kulekeyev said.

9 lime tree seedlings were planted. According to Nelya Shapekova, this type of tree can live for 400-500 years and its height reaches 30-40 meters.  A sign with the inscription “From the Board of Directors of the Eurasian National University” was placed among the trees.
